An Indianapolis man is facing a felony charge related to an Aug. 4 motorcycle crash that left two dead on Interstate 74.
Michael Percifield, 34, of Indianapolis was arrested Friday on a preliminary charge of leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
Investigators said two motorcycles were speeding along I-74 just before midnight last Sunday when one motorcyclist — later identified as Devon P. Criswell, 41 of Indianapolis — lost control and crashed.
Criswell and his passenger, Jacquelynn M. Lewis, 23 also from Indianapolis, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the second motorcycle, driven by Percifield, made contact with Criswell’s bike prior to the crash, and Percifield left the scene of the accident.
Officials said alcohol consumption and excessive speed might have been factors in the crash.
Percifield is being held at the Hamilton County Jail.
