Brandon Chamberlain
Indiana State Police say a driver whose actions killed one woman and injured another last month is now behind bars.
Deputies say 24-year-old Brandon Chamberlain of Huntingburg was headed north on SR 162 when his pick up went left of center and hit a car driven by 60-year-old Donna Marie Evans of Cannelton.
Evans died as a result of her injuries.
Deputies say Chamberlain couldn’t maintain control of his truck and the ATV in the bed of that truck went airborne, crashing through the windshield of a third vehicle driven by 58-year-old Donna Trafton of Ferdinand.
Trafton suffered two broken vertebrae in her neck.
ISP say the crash investigation showed that Chamberlain was driving north in a southbound lane and going 74 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone at the time of the accident. Deputies say Chamberlain was also operating while under the influence of alcohol.
He’s been charged with 2 counts of OWI causing death and 1 count of OWI causing serious injury. Chamberlain was arrested Tuesday morning and booked into the Dubois County jail.
